Dark days in cycling are back. One week before the start of the Giro the RCS (organisers) discover that NGC MEDICAL - OTC INDUSTRIA PORTE has not enough sportive quality to participate in the Giro d'Italia. It is a big shame that the organisers can decide on totally arbitrary grounds who are or are not allowed to participate in a race.
ASO still refuses the strongest cycling team (ASTANA) to participate in the Tour de Fake. Let us hope UCI will take very strong measures against the teams that accept this sort of discrimination in order to get a French rider into the top 10.
THIS
SITE
The main part of this site consists of the start- or participation
lists for upcoming cycling races (UCI-categories Protour, World Tour and Continental
Tours .HC and .1). By means of surfing, e-mailing and faxing to the
organisations of racing courses and cycling teams I will try to produce
the startlists as complete as possible. And of course I get a lot of help
from cycling fans all over the world. This page is updated nearly every
day. By the way, no completeness or correctness is claimed. The main
objective is to give service to the numerous cycling fans (or should I say
addicts) that participate in all sorts of games and pools. In fact I
hope that every cycling fan takes advantage...
Formerly I used to mention all sources in the cycling startlists. I
have decided to just put the information on races without explicitly
mentioning the sources, simply because it is a hell of a job to mention
them all. From now on I will try to produce the startlists as I got them
from many different sources and publish the organisation's startlist when
it is available. In many cases the startlist of an organisation is not up
to date, that's why I will also keep publishing the 'starters' as I have
received them from other sources (which often are
more reliable and up to date).
I want to thank all the following people for supplying me with
information (alfabatically): Daniel Fertin, David Didi, Frank Niemeijer,
Georg Reidarsen, Ilka Käuffert, Ingrid Goossens, Jef Modery, Jeroen
Kleijwegt, Joris van den Berg, Karel Kellens, Karen Lambrecht, Ken Schamp, Mario Casaldi,
Mario Stiehl, Merijn Bouw, Olivier Onderbeke, Philip van der Ploeg, Reinier Meijer, René
Schulenberg, Robert Engström, Ruben Stassen, Rutger Mooy, Sebastien
Barre, Wim van Rossum, Wolfgang Hermsen and to all those who contributed
or will contribute in the future.
Sorry if I forget to mention someone. If you want to be added to (or
deleted from) this list, just let me know.
